Power has been restored after police said a 22-year-old Dayton woman charged with OVI crashed into a power pole early Tuesday morning in downtown Middletown.

Kendra Decaille also was cited for reasonable control, the Middletown Division of Police crash report said. She told police she drank about two shots of an alcoholic beverage.

She crashed her 2020 Nissan Sentra into a pole around 3:15 a.m. Tuesday near Verity Parkway and First Avenue, police said.

Scott Tadych, public works director, said the intersection was closed until Duke Energy could make the necessary repairs. Middletown dispatchers confirmed at 1 a.m. that crews had finished work and cleared the area.

The power was still out at 7:45 p.m., affecting numerous businesses, but was restored by 1 a.m. Wednesday. The estimated restoration time was 11:59 p.m., according to Duke’s online outage map.

Decaille was taken to Kettering Health Middletown for jail clearance and a medical evaluation, police said. Once police got to the hospital, she refused medical treatment for possible internal injuries from the crash.

Her arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Middletown Municipal Court.
